Here is a new drawing, the first of many to come from a new series I am starting… After all, it is almost summer!!

The original drawing is available for purchase $40 and prints are available here.

Lake Waukewan- Winter 2012

Lake Waukewan- Winter 2012

Here’s a shot from a couple of weeks ago. It was a very warm Winter this year with minimal snow and ice so it was nice to see the bob houses get out on the ice while they could!

Here is another Drawing from my series Back Rooms of My Mind.

The Art Project is coming to a close but I am planning on continuing down this whacky road of creating a new piece of art each week. I like the deadline and I love the outcome having creating new art! I all too often start drawings or paintings and let them sit for weeks, months and yes, years.

Lonely Ice Shanty

This was shot 2/9/12 on the way to work. It’s been a pretty mild Winter overall so the ice fishing has been delayed some. Only over the past few weeks have the most daring or desperate taken to the ice to try and salvage some fun on the ice.

Here is another drawing (pen/ink ) from my “Back Rooms of My Mind” series. This is an on going series that will continue throughout my life.

Another shot from Big Squam on the way to work!

Love this place!

Big Squam Sunrise Looking at Rattlesnake- 2012

As we are finally getting some snow up here I had to stop on the way to work to capture a little bit of the beauty.

Town Docks Sunrise 12.22.11

It’s been quite busy this past month- happy New Year to everyone- and I haven’t had the time to draw or paint. In the middle of a move & the holidays I haven’t had much time for art. However, I was driving to work and as I was about to keep going on my way, I saw the sunlight beaming through the thick  clouds… I had to stop. It’s been a while since I’ve last took a photo of this wonderful place and as you can see by the date the photo was taken 12.22.11, this was taken right in the middle of my crazy life!

As I have photographed this location many times before, every photo is uniquely different and never exactly the same. However, because I have so many of these shots, I now must add the date to the title name!

Cheers to new beginnings and a prosperous 2012!

'tis the season

Back to photography this week, switching mediums to keep things fresh for myself.

Merry Christmas!

Quit Clowning Around

Quit Clowning Around….. This is an 11″x14″ color pencil/ chalk pastels on textured Blue paper. The scan was cut off as my scanner is only capable of scanning 9″x12″. As you can see, everything is getting cut off.

I am sure everyone has heard this from someone they look up to before. Some parents don’t encourage kids to follow their dreams. Especially kids that dream of becoming a clown , a magician or an artist. Thankfully my parents encouraged me to take a chance and got out on that preverbal limb and follow my dreams.

All in all, I think everything has worked out okay and I am happy and health. This piece is dedicated to my parents!

Love you.

Cheers ya’ll and Merry Christmas!!

Get Away

When life gets too crazy, you need to get away. I want to go to a place only travelable by snow mobile. That would be the ultimate get away.

Winter Berries

I was finally in the mood to be photographing again. I walked out the door and I saw these berries dripping, soaking wet from the nights rain. The light in the parking lot was still on and I saw the opportunity to take a shot.

As a hunter hunts and stalks  his/ her prey, a photographer does the same.

Winter Is Coming.

Winter Is Coming.

I was up in the notch a couple of weeks ago and I snapped this photo. I was going to post it last week, however, I have been creating a ton of art lately. Anyway, here it is.

Enjoy and happy holidays.

Lights of the Night

Oil Pastels on paper.

The idea for this drawing popped into my head while trying to get to sleep one night last week. Laying still my mind was racing miles a minute, and then this image popped into my mind. That rat race, the grind, the city life I have left behind.

I had a lot of fun creating this and I plan on creating some more in the coming months.

This drawing will be hanging in the Theather Cafe down in Worcester, MA starting Dec. 1st along with a few other paintings/ drawings.

Week 33-Michael Mooney

This is Halloween, This is Halloween.

Halloween has since come and gone and I had this ready to post a few weeks ago, however, I wanted to color this in and add the shadows prior to posting. As a graphic designer, it’s easy to redo or edit what you have done. As you all know, as an artist, -at times you can “redo” what has been done, however, working in pen there is no undo button.

That said, I am not too happy with the shadows on this and wish I could undo what has been done. Other than that I am happy with this. My other idea was to go back to this drawing and make the sky Black with ink, as this is night.

At times I don’t want to push a piece for fear of ruining it. If I do go back into it, I will start with pencil and work the ink into the background with undertones of Purple and Blue.
