My Child is Now Rotting in the Ground

Dreams, the shape of pornography
I lose twenty-one grams
I collected my son’s baby teeth as they fell out
calcified memories, speckled in blood.

I slide these little bits of bone around until they start to form images:

Stick figure-shape
tied with thread,
hangs from a noose
brittle twine.

Mantis-shape
headless, pumping its lover full of semen,
abdomen muscles
squeezing
milking.

Moth-shape
spreads wings full and brilliant grey,
eyes stare like buckets of ink,
edges bleed fuzzy
mold grows on gauze.

Lavender-shape
blooms and fills the head with the sweet smell of copulation,
a steady scent of lilac
grows from a pot of moist pennies as
October rains sputter through the open window.

Hope-shape
the tears come.

Pain-shape
the truth comes.

Avarice-shape
the pennies spill, he eats them up,
curdles them in the stomach
shits them out,
spread like a thin coat
plaster over the world.

Pride-shape
no one can hear him.

Loss-shape
is terror is guilt is divorce is death is divorce is guilt is terror.

My fist,
clenched in the color of red,
crashes to the table

the teeth shatter to the wind.

Here’s a little picture I made for my sons room using scrapbook paper. I got the inspiration from this post, but I made an owl instead of a bird.

upon my window

mason jar

collects the magic

near and far

ive bottled up

the midnight star

and I smear her

on- my breast

she smells so good

a sweet repose

a scent – a musk

enchant- the nose

she’s whispered to

this morning rose

and loved with all the lillies

shes been to spain

the mountains clear

and licked the glaciers

from peak to pier

and lingered on

the lions ear

who was lurking on-

the huntress

shes held the rain that

often bites

while blasting through

the darkest nights

flexed and formed with all

our lights

bringing hopes of dreams- in sadness

je tiem’, je’ce – je’ mapelle

au chaunte – I will kiss her

I will hold her, I will swing

I will sway-

sweet- mystic star light

i’ve smeared on today

I will wrap her- I will roll her

all her chords- I will play

Quick drawing this week. I didn't have a whole lot of time to put forth on this one. I did however, manage to get something down on the back of a checkbook! Oh yes, reduce, reuse, recycle your waste people!

The great escape

Apologies for not having a “final” product.  I’ve been going straight-out all week (I’m sure you know what that’s like).  A finalized version will hopefully be forthcoming or replace this one.  This is actually the ONLY art I was able to do all week.  But uhh…otherwise…meet Babs and Mike…

“Forever Love”

Zombie Heart

This morning, I ran over my own heart
In the driveway; backed right the fuck
Over that thing with the left
Rear tire of my Volkswagen Jetta.

She flopped around a bit on the black
top, then seemed to die – a dramatic,
Silent film star death. But
It was a lie.

Now, I swear, she is out for brains.
Half- dead and part alive. Defenseless,
Though. I think you could rip her arms
Off. They are attached only
With rotten sinews, thread-like

Veins. Her clothes decay
And begin to fall off around her.
Tonight she will roam, nearly naked
In her half-life state.

Ribs, what incompetent crypt-keepers you
Have been. Letting her out to wander,
Nude, cold, and angry. And none of you, each
Lovely, boney branch will explain
This wandering muscle, anxious,
Hungry, grieving, alone.

Flying Lesson 3)
Working uphill

Just fell through the door coming back from my third lesson. A lot shorter than I planned, but on the other hand, I had prepractised already today, doing several minor walks.

Was working with a bunch of small fry today. They had to be organized in straight lines, pushed in strollers and moved forward simultaneously. It worked brilliantly!
It’s so nice that they can be fooled into doing what I want them to do every the time and that they will be really happy to be fooled every time as well.
Then I began practicing doing a starting stretch simultaneously. To be able to lift off eventually.
I put 2-3 children in a stroller, figured it would be just enough counterweight, and then had a race against the kids that didn’t fit in the cart, up the hill!
The kids won every time and I got my flying lesson.
But I didn’t tell them about that part.

I also trained myself in confirming their feelings all day, listening to everything between heaven and earth.
Happy and sad and angry and tired and ingenious and a lot of running in their legs and then the one about the dragon that prevented the prince from saving Sleeping Beauty (or was it Snow White?) and elves who made magic swords to the prince with their wands so that he could ~ v;*,v ~ (some kind of movement towards that table over there) to the dragon who was sent by The Evil Queen.
Well you get it.

My walk home was only a half walk since I have already walked a lot today.

Starting to get the hang of it. Especially the notion that it’s a gift to my body. Which makes it a pretty good every time.

Today I’m swinging my arms rapidly, both sides. And every step is for the little me who once didn’t get enough, and for the adult me who needs right now. I thought both of them should get something today.

I still think I’m a pretty good teacher.

Wanna know how to attack a hill?1. Go up a hill smooth and steady. Don’t charge up it.
2. Only lean into the hill slightly. Don’t hunch over.
3. Crest the top of the hill and pick up the pace.
Have fun!

The votes have been tallied, and Plato has prevailed.  Of course, you all technically have ’til midnight Sunday to vote, so the winner could still change.  (I’ve left the list in this post, just in case.)

For now, though, I give you “Plato’s Music”:
